Flock cameras have a lens protector that protects them from spray paint damage

This is a screenshot taken from a video reporting on Flock camera destruction. Notice the black center has no spray paint on its out facing rim. This indicates this is a lens cover sitting on top of the real lens. When this is spray painted they simply pop the cover out and put a new cover on, like they did here in this image.

So spray painting a camera works, but it does not damage a camera permanently. It only incapacitates the camera until someone can come out and change the lens cover.
