原文:Lockheed Martin has developed a new method for building the Mark 41 system that could increase the number of missiles in a set physical space on a ship by 25 percent. Thus, a missile field on a DDG-51 destroyer that contains 64 missile cells today could in the future be replaced with a system that contains 80 missile cells. If that method was used on the battleship, the 128 planned missile cells could potentially become 160 cells or, in the absence of CPS missiles, as many as 200 VLS cells.
